FAQ

Who issues barcodes in India?

GS1 India issues the official GS1 numbers (GTINs) used on retail products in India. Barcodes bought from unofficial resellers may be rejected by retailers and marketplaces.

Is the GS1 fee one-time?

GS1 India charges a registration fee and an annual subscription based on your turnover and the number of numbers you need; we show the current fee in the quote.

Can you print the barcode labels too?

Yes — Indian Barcode supplies labels, thermal printers and scanners and checks that the printed barcodes scan correctly.

GS1 numbers are allotted only by GS1 India; Mindware assists with the application and implementation.
